A kanban board for project ideas and tasks
Create columns for your process, such as Ideas, Research and Done. Move cards between stages or switch to the table to review the backlog.
Create a boardWorks in your phone and desktop browsers. An account is required to save your work.

Name columns after your work stages
Add, rename and reorder columns. Colors distinguish stages, and a counter shows the cards in each column. Drag a card by its body to move it.
On a phone, hold a card before dragging. An ordinary swipe scrolls the board. The card’s menu also lets you choose a column or change its order.
Kanban and table views use the same cards
Keep the kanban view to see work stages. Switch to a backlog table or the regular card view to browse the task list. Changing the view does not create copies of your records.
Every card has a summary, details and tags. Open several records in tabs to compare resources or move text between them. Board tags are separate from tags in other notebooks.
Bring notes in and invite your team
Open a note, choose Move to and select a personal board. Its text becomes the details of a card in the first column. Links to other records keep working.
Invite registered users as readers or editors for shared work. History shows text changes and their authors. Restoring a version uses the same history as regular cards.
Set up a project board
- Create a Board notebook.
- Name the columns after your work stages and add the first card.
- Move cards as work progresses; invite participants for a shared project.
Questions about this format
Do I have to follow a preset process?
No. Customize the columns and colors for your project. A board can be personal or shared with invited participants.
Can I use a board as a task list?
Yes. The view menu includes a backlog table showing the same cards as the kanban columns.
What happens when I delete a column?
The cards stay on the board and move to the first remaining column. Then use their menus or drag them to arrange them again.
