Undated tasks leave your schedule open

Add a task to Undated when you have not decided on a date. Later, choose a day and time in its form or drag it onto the calendar. You can also adjust its duration.

All-day entries have their own row. Timed tasks appear on the hourly grid, and overlapping entries are shown separately.

Specify recurring work and subtasks

Set a daily or weekly repetition for recurring work. Completion belongs to the chosen occurrence. Break a larger task into subtasks.

Categories and search help focus the calendar on relevant entries. Header search can also find resources in other notebooks, such as a note for a meeting.

Jump to a day from the sidebar calendar

Add a calendar to the sidebar and connect one planner. Selecting a date opens that day’s schedule. Switch the same calendar to Activity to find records created on a day.

The planner can be used on its own. If a task needs supporting material, add a record link. Returning keeps the chosen day, filters and scroll position.

Add something to your schedule

  1. Create a Planner notebook and choose day, week or month view.
  2. Add a timed task, an all-day entry or an undated task.
  3. Set repetition, subtasks and a category when you need them.

Questions about this format

Can I use the planner on my phone?

Yes. Day, week and month views are available. Change entries through their forms; hold before dragging to move a task onto the calendar.

Do I have to add the sidebar calendar?

No. It is optional navigation. The planner also works without a calendar in the sidebar.

How do I keep a resource with a task?

In a saved task, use Linked records to add a card or note. The material receives a backlink. Its own access permissions still apply.
